Professional statement

Christine D. Fazio is a licensed psychotherapist specializing in individual psychotherapy with adults. She is a long-time practitioner and clinical supervisor. She has been a student of many theoretical approaches and has honed her particular therapeutic style which dovetails who she is as a person and as a clinician.

Her modern approach to psychotherapy combines the vast theory of psychological and therapeutic principles with the complexities of modern existence. At the seat of her approach is understanding the role of relationships, both external and internal, has on the experiences in the here and now. In her work, she will make use of three areas of exploration, the past, the present and the therapy room to tease out patterns, find themes, challenge the familiar and weave together a tapestry of your own design. Her process adapts relational, experiential and interpersonal perspectives to generate individualized treatment plans entrenched in collaboration and a felt sense of connection and safety. She strives for self-reflection as a practitioner. And, as a person deliberately works to hold an anti-racist, affirming, inclusive therapeutic container to contextualize individual experiences. She is a consummate student, seeking to understand the human condition in all its forms and to undo aloneness whenever possible. Your time together will be collaborative, non-judgmental and connected.

Message to clients

My approach is real, kind and connected. I work best with those feeling stuck reacting to the same things in the same ways and seeking to engage with the world and themselves in a new way. Together we will explore your sense of self, identify your thinking, relational and behavioral patterns and consider releasing patterns which no longer serve you and forging new ways of being connected. Together we will seek to understand how the wounds of early life, your experiences, your perception and the particular organization of your mind and body shape the way you interact. I work best with individuals with personal curiosity and readiness to embark on change. Those seeking to no longer feel tethered to the ever-changing world or circumstances to ensure their own well-being.

As a modern therapist, we engage together in therapeutic work, free from judgment, honoring identity and intersectionality, finding the spaces we wish to avoid and going there with overarching kindness and connection. Jointly we will use curiosity and pattern seeking to amplify what brings us joy, find meaning in our psychic pain and find the warmth of self-acceptance.

Being alive and conscious in this world is hard. I cannot pretend to know you or what you need to hear to reach out, but you can be certain I wish to know; to understand, to be a seed of compassion and change.

"I am human, and think nothing human is alien to me.” ― Terence
