Christine Grounds is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a practice in the NoMad neighborhood of Manhattan. Christine specializes in working with women in their 20s and 30s struggling with relationships and career, as well as women in their 40s and 50s dealing with parenting, long-term partners, and career.

Christine also has extensive experience working with parents across the lifespan, including first-timers or parents of kids with special needs.

Christine's treatment approach is relational and eclectic. She encourages mindfulness and body awareness as tools to help manage triggering situations and emotions. Christine describes her style as active and collaborative.

Christine has been in private practice for 15 years. She earned her Master's in Social Work from New York University and completed postgraduate training in Psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytic Supervision from the Training Institute for Mental Health. She has also done training in trauma and body-based modalities like Internal Family Systems and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.

Mindfulness - Practices to encourage a state of active, open attention on the present

Out-of-pocket fees

  • Ongoing sessions: $250 (45min)
  • Sliding scale: $100 - $250
  • Initial session: $250 (45min)
  • Supervision: $60 (45min)

Therapist's note

Christine can provide you with paperwork for your insurance company if you are seeking out-of-network reimbursement. If you and Christine are not able arrive at a mutually agreed upon fee, she will offer referrals to colleagues to ensure that you get the help that you want.
