Professional statement

Dr. Danielle DeSantis is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist with over 20 years of experience providing therapy, psychological testing, supervision, and consultation. She earned her doctorate from the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology and completed undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Rhode Island, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a certification in Grief Counseling.

Dr. DeSantis offers individualized, evidence-based therapy to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Her approach integrates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, solution-focused strategies, and collaborative models tailored to each person’s needs. She works with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, OCD, anger, stress, panic, phobias, parenting challenges, self-esteem, adjustment difficulties, relationship conflict, and behavioral or emotional difficulties in youth.

In addition to therapy, she provides comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological evaluations across the lifespan. Assessments are conducted for diagnostic clarification, academic or workplace accommodations, legal or court-related purposes, and self-reflection. Areas of evaluation include Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, learning differences, executive functioning, personality structure, cognitive and academic abilities, emotional regulation, behavioral functioning, and social-emotional development.

For over a decade, Dr. DeSantis has directed a virtual group practice offering both therapy and assessment services. She also provides supervision to doctoral interns and licensed clinicians, contributing to the development of ethical, evidence-based practice within the field.

Her work is rooted in the belief that understanding one’s internal world—through therapy or assessment—can create opportunities for deeper self-awareness, growth, and improved quality of life. She is committed to fostering a therapeutic environment that is respectful, thoughtful, and attuned to the complexity of each individual’s experience.

Message to clients

Before we begin our work together, I want you to know that I approach each client with openness, respect, and curiosity. I believe that therapy and psychological assessment are most effective when they feel collaborative and grounded in trust. My role is to listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and help you make sense of your experiences—whether you're navigating a difficult season, seeking clarity about how your mind works, or looking to better understand yourself or your relationships.

My hope is that this process offers you not just relief, but insight. I see therapy and assessment as tools for understanding—not just diagnosing or problem-solving, but helping you connect more deeply with who you are and how you want to move through the world. I aim to create a space that feels safe and grounded, where you can explore honestly, without pressure or judgment.

If this is your first time reaching out for support, or if you’ve had experiences in the past that left you feeling unheard or misunderstood, I want you to know that it’s completely valid to carry hesitation. My intention is to offer a space that feels steady, respectful, and attuned to who you are—not just your symptoms or struggles, but your strengths, values, and hopes. Whether you're coming in for therapy or assessment, we’ll take our time, and I’ll stay present with you as we navigate what matters most. I believe meaningful work begins with feeling genuinely seen, and that’s where we’ll start.
