Ferris Wahl is a psychotherapist in Berkeley, California. She works with adults and teens who may be coming in to address childhood trauma, anxiety, loss, life transitions or maternal mental health. Ferris is particularly passionate about supporting new mothers, adolescents and caregivers. She also has advanced training in the areas of depression and generalized anxiety.
Ferris is trained in psychodynamic, humanistic and Gestalt approaches, which use the container of a safe therapeutic relationship to explore what beliefs or coping skills might no longer be serving clients and identify ways to evolve and move through life with more confidence and embodiment. Ferris focuses on mindfulness practices can be called on both in and out of session to help connect to one's own true feelings and needs. This supports clients to express a profound sense of connection with themselves and leads to restructuring their lives to allow them to live more authentically.
Ferris' style is deeply caring, hopeful and curious. When clients first start therapy, Ferris works to co-create a safe working relationship and set realistic and exciting goals.
Ferris received her MA from California Institute of Integral Studies. She has worked at Integral Counseling Center where she met with a wide array of populations in a private practice setting. Outside of private practice, she enjoys seeing live music, running and making delicious meals with her family. Please reach out and see what possibilities you might create with one another.
