My name is Dr. Inga Korsgaard and I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist in the states of Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New York. I have over 9 years of experience in the field of psychology and psychological evaluation. My work spans across different developmental stages from adolescence to late adulthood, including group therapy work and couple’s therapy.
Examining thoughts, feelings, and emotions connected to old patterns is a path that leads to self-discovery and understanding of current functioning. Likely, the hardest part is beginning to understand why things really aren't working. I work with clients in a clear, approachable manner, so we can pinpoint the root causes and create a goal-oriented framework for progress.
I believe creating a warm, interactive and individualized approach based on the specific needs of each client allows space to provide the necessary tools, support, and knowledge to disengage from old patterns to create a more enriching life.
Our experiences can be vastly different but in the same turn can be rooted in similar causes. Themes of communication, understanding, being able to connect and feeling connected are often at the center of our understanding of ourselves and our place in this world.
I offer remote sessions to residents of Connecticut, New York, and Rhode Island or in-person sessions for people in the Providence area of Rhode Island. Students at Brown, RISD, or Rhode Island College who are from Connecticut or New York may find that working with a therapist who can provide continuity while you are home visiting or to stay can be a helpful benefit.
Therapy is a relationship that should feel positive and affirming. I feel that an initial phone call is a good way to begin the process of comfortably building that relationship. I am looking forward to hearing from you.
