Professional statement

I am a US licensed therapist, a writer, an artist, and a lover of the outdoors. I appreciate supporting you in exploring the potential for softening, surrendering, and finding a balance that allows for a more integrated and present involvement in life. I believe our experiences, while painful at times, can be catalysts for growth, awakened perspectives (interrupting patterns), expansion, and harmony. Coming from a place of compassion, I honor your capacity to harness a sense of belonging, acceptance and feeling worthy, that may give space for more joy-filled, connected moments in your life.

Working with individuals and groups, I take an integrative and relational approach to counseling, incorporating Parts Work (through Gestalt and Internal Family Systems), Trauma-Integrating Care, Present-Centered Awareness, and Body-Centered Awareness. Sessions take place in a way that best fits your unique needs and preferences. Since trauma is often stored in the body, I take an approach that involves both body-awareness and one’s mental-emotional experience of the trauma.

I graduated from Naropa University with a Masters degree in Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling. I allow my own journey, relationship to the earth, spiritual practice, and professional experiences to imprint my work as a counselor. I respect the therapeutic relationship and basic goodness we all hold. I have a commitment to social-justice, inclusivity, and community support. I am knowledgeable working with individuals in polyamorous/non-monogomous relationships and am a Kink Aware Professional.

It can take some time to find a therapist that feels like the right fit for you; that’s why I offer a free consultation to discuss your needs in therapy. If this doesn’t feel like a good fit; I am glad to offer referrals to support you in getting the care you are seeking.

Message to clients

Deciding to sit down with a new therapist can feel vulnerable, so I allow a space that puts you in the drivers seat. Through Internal Family Systems and Somatic Therapy I open up a space that allows for self empowerment to be harnessed, more body awareness, and increased capacity to hold all of what life may bring to you.

I hope to be a compassionate witness to your experience and support you in guiding yourself through your own work. I like to say, I have the tools and the present/regulated nervous system; all you need to bring is yourself, some intention, and a sprinkle of curiosity. The rest will unravel with presence, time, and mindful attention.

What you can expect working together is a compassionate and non-judgmental space to open up about what you are experiencing in your life. I will come to your sessions with presence, curiosity and trust in your innate ability to digest and work through what brings you into therapy. I will always take into account the systems (family, society, culture) you grew up in along with any other factors that may have influenced you.

You might work with me if you feel stuck in your process and want a more integrated self empowering approach. I support people to feel in alignment with their purpose and experience life from a more self-trusting authentic place.
