Jane Kivnick is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Psychoanalyst with an in-person and virtual practice in New York, where she welcomes both individual adults and couples. Many of her patients may come to therapy feeling stuck or dissatisfied under the pressures of their careers, social/familial expectations, internal strife and/or systemic oppression. She builds strong connections with her patients through which they can better understand their past and present relationships, in order to feel more connected to their passions, work and loved ones.
Jane is uniquely skilled in working with folks who have suffered forms of relational trauma. She brings a special awareness of the connection of the mind and body, and our somatic experiences of grief and suffering. She cultivates a safe atmosphere in which patients can feel and process pain, and find both clarity and relief.
Jane makes sure to maintain an inclusive and socially conscious practice. With her primary training in social work, she is committed to social justice and anti-racism. She has previous professional experience in the performing arts, and welcomes everyone from creative types to entrepreneurs, and anyone hoping to expand their awareness of themselves and others.
