Now offering Emergency Intensive Couples Counseling! This is a 4 week program, 2 hour sessions per week with immediate availability!

Jennifer is a worldly person who grew up with a father in the United States Air Force traveling to many places throughout her childhood and adolescence. She grew up in a blended family surrounded by many different cultures, beliefs, races, religions, gender identities, sexual orientations, socioeconomic statuses, etc. Jennifer is a Jewish-Muslim convert, a lifelong yoga student, and speaks fluent Spanish. It is her goal to learn as much as she can about as many cultures and faiths as possible, and she represents a level of diversity and global compassion that is not likely to be surpassed or found elsewhere. In a lot of ways, Jennifer is like a bridge who connects cultures, races, religions, etc., that would not normally get a chance to learn about each other.

Combining both an Eastern and Western approach to mental health and wellness, Jennifer brings a unique and highly effective approach to treating the mind, body, and spirit with individuals who are wanting to learn lasting ways to improve their mental health and grow as a person. She also has a great deal of knowledge about a number of institutions and systems that are at play in Southern California. Due to her personal experiences and studies, Jennifer has a unique skill set to work with religious communities of all kinds as well as any other spiritual-based groups that struggle to find a "safe" resource in mainstream society that does not judge or contradict religious practices.

Message to clients

I'm the kind of the therapist who feels deeply connected to the work I do and the people I help; this is not just a paycheck for me but instead a calling. I'm not the "sit and nod" kind of therapist; I enjoy actively collaborating with my clients to help them find new ways to cope with life challenges and change thought patterns that contribute to difficulties with anxiety, depression, and difficulty overcoming trauma. Feel confident that you will learn new ways to think, new ways to cope, and feel stronger to handle whatever comes your way after working with me. I am also the therapist to give you homework in the form of new skills to try as well as recommend books, videos, or podcasts to help you stay actively engaged in the therapy process between sessions.

Please note that I generally see my clients every other week when they are getting started, decreasing frequency once my client feels they have a better handle on what brings them into therapy. After over 12 years in practice, I have found that with my style of therapy, this frequency is typically the most effective to help people process what was discussed in session and to give people time to try the skills they are learning in the therapy sessions. My goals is to create a therapeutic space that leave my clients with a sense of safety, non-judgement, and faith they will find relief.
