Professional statement

Jonathan Labman is a Licensed Professional Counselor in eastern Pennsylvania who has been practicing for 24 years. His clientele is an eclectic group of people who are in recovery from trauma, addiction, and other complex issues. He will work with you on all aspects of human life: physical, mental, emotional, psychological and spiritual.

Jonathan will help you to learn how to be an effective human being. He will teach you to determine if the thoughts you're using to make decisions are based in truth or in false assumptions. He will help you to face and identify feelings (including flashbacks) and trace where they come from, to determine if they're coming from truthful sources and are therefore useful for insight and action.

Clients are from all walks of life, ages 21 to 90. Some have never had therapy, others didn't feel it worked, and some have explored psychological healing but don't feel complete or whole yet. For those of you interested interested in spiritual awakening and enlightenment as an important dimension of recovery, Jonathan can guide you there too.

Jonathan knows how to work with your pain and suffering with deep spiritual and psychological understanding. He applies 54 years of personal and professional exploration to create very interactive sessions for you. He will 'mirror' you to yourself and reduce what seem like 'complex issues' to the very simple habit patterns (of thought, action, feeling, spirituality, and creativity) that are actually in your way, so they can be dissolved.

You can meet Jonathan in his consulting office in Holicong, Pennsylvania (near Doylestown) and/or by videoconference through an encrypted and HIPAA-compliant platform for therapy in Pennsylvania.

Message to clients

You are coming in pain and anguish because you want help with recovery from complex issues, grief, pain, loss, addiction, trauma and other issues. When we work together, though you'll come with lots of 'problems' that seem 'complex,' I will help you to simplify your life into: (1) the core of who you are and (2) the obstructive, compulsive patterns, and hurt feelings that are in the way of being uniquely yourself.

You will learn to master your thoughts and feelings: to learn how to make them useful. I will teach you simple skills to be an effective human, and if you're interested in spiritual development, we can work on connecting you to the deep Core of who you are through meditation and mindfulness. We'll also look at your involvement with the current culture and its own destructive patterns, and how you can function in this 'crazy world' without losing your integrity, compassion or sanity.

To help you into the life that YOU want to live, I will work precisely and individually with and for you. We will do a lot of dialog in sessions and I will frequently give you homework to integrate what you're learning into your actual life. Effective treatment includes you gaining insights AND putting them into practice. Most importantly, I look at what's happened to you, not what's wrong with you. Together let's create new, adaptive patterns of thought, feeling and behavior that serve you and your recovery well.

Client testimonials

"Jonathan was very kind, warm, and professional. I usually am very shy and uncomfortable with first calls and don’t always know what to say, but he lead the call with patience and care to the questions asked and the answers I gave. I definitely would recommend working with him! :)"
