Professional statement

Jonathan Labman is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Holicong, Pennsylvania (eastern Pennsylvania near Doylestown, PA) who has been practicing for 22 years. His clientele is an eclectic group of people interested in coping with and healing anxiety, depression, trauma, men's issues, and some interested in exploring spirituality.

His specialty is men's struggles with identifying, expressing and making good use of their feelings. He helps men to determine if the thoughts they're using to make decisions are based in truth or in false assumptions. He also teaches men how to face and identify their feelings and trace where they come from, to determine if they're coming from truthful sources and are therefore useful for insight and action.

Jonathan's clients are often educated professionals, some of international origin, ages 21 to 87. He works with everyone from people who've never had therapy before, to people who've explored psychological healing but who don't feel complete or whole yet. For those who are interested in going beyond ego integration, Jonathan offers mentoring into spiritual awakening.

Jonathan has extensive training and exploration in many psychological methods, trauma treatment, healing modalities, and spirituality. He applies 50 years of personal exploration in all aspects of human life, and brings that to his very interactive sessions with clients. He likes to 'mirror' clients to themselves, and to reduce what seem like 'complex issues' to the very simple habit patterns (of thought, action, feeling, spirituality, and creativity) that are actually in the way of progress.

Jonathan is available in his consulting office in Holicong, Pennsylvania (near New Hope, Yardley, Newtown and Doylestown) and by videoconference through an encrypted and HIPAA-compliant platform for clients in Pennsylvania. He accepts 7 major insurances and has a sliding scale for those with no insurance or out-of-network insurance.

Message to clients

My goal for you is to discover your truest identity including the love, truth, and deep silent awareness that you are at your core. When we work together, though you'll come with lots of 'problems' that seem very 'complex,' I will help you to simplify your life into: (1) the core of who you are and (2) the obstructive, compulsive patterns, and hurt feelings that are in the way of you being that deepest self.

I have created some very simple cognitive models to help you master your thoughts and feelings. I will teach these to you, and if you're interested in spiritual development, will also teach you meditation, mindfulness, 'being present' and any other skills you need to function smoothly in your life. We'll also look at your involvement with the current culture and its own destructive patterns, and how you can function in this 'crazy world' without losing your integrity, compassion or sanity.

I will work very precisely and individually, to help you into the life that YOU want to live. We will do a lot of dialog in sessions and I will frequently give you 'homework' to integrate what you're learning into your actual life. There's no point spending a lot of time gaining 'insights' if you don't put them into practice. Most importantly, I look at what's happened to you, not what's wrong with you. Together let's create new, adaptive patterns of thought, feeling and behavior that serve you well now.

Monthly Meditation with Q&A on Your Spiritual Path

This is a group for those who want to explore their spirituality. We hold a brief meditation for 20-minutes (instruction if needed) and then open to a discussion of issues that arise for those working towards spiritual awakening.

Jonathan Eric Labman

This is an opportunity to spend a day in retreat, without the cost of traveling far away to a retreat center and paying the overnight costs associated with that. We will spend the day doing silent meditations of various lengths with time for Q&A.

Client testimonials

"Jonathan was very kind, warm, and professional. I usually am very shy and uncomfortable with first calls and don’t always know what to say, but he lead the call with patience and care to the questions asked and the answers I gave. I definitely would recommend working with him! :)"
