Professional statement

Katrina Oskarbska has over a decade of experience as a therapist and holds dual graduate degrees in Philosophy and Mental Health Counseling and is certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Katrina is primarily trained in attachment, trauma focused, existential, and psychodynamic theories but draws on several holistic treatments. She enjoys working with adults of all ages on anxiety, transitions, trauma, and relationships. Her couples work focuses on communication, emotional intimacy, cross-cultural issues, and sexuality.

Katrina assists clients in developing healthy coping skills, setting new goals, changing unwanted habits, constructing meaning, and creating emotional balance. She is caring, supportive and encouraging while providing her clients with objectivity and guidance. She takes a conversational approach to therapy while allowing space for exploration. She listens attentively while her clients are sharing but also expresses her curiosity by asking questions.

As a therapist, Katrina finds fulfillment working closely with a diverse array of clients and displays a genuine curiosity into their lives. She believes it is a true honor to witness her patients transformation and journey towards personal growth.

Message to clients

During the therapy session you will get my full, undivided attention. Therapy is one hour a week that is solely focused on you and is an opportunity to give yourself the care you deserve. I provide feedback and gentle guidance in order to assist you in changing behavioral patterns and beliefs that no longer serve your wellbeing. When appropriate I will use the healing power of humor to bring lightness into the room. I have been told by clients and colleagues that I bring a feeling of warmth and serenity to the therapy room. I am flexible in my approach and focus on meeting my clients where they are.
