La’Tish Thomas is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker located in New York, NY. La’Tish is passionate about providing women in their twenties, thirties, and forties the supportive care that helps them thrive. Many of her clients feel exhausted balancing their multiple roles, all of which they perform perfectly. Even though their drive leads to high achievement, it burns them out, leaving them with anxiety or depression. It can also lead to increased challenges in relationships. La’Tish helps these clients to find balance in their lives and to reconnect with their values.
La’Tish practices from a holistic, culturally affirming, and strengths-based therapy perspective. She is an affirming therapist who, when appropriate, gently holds her clients accountable. She teaches clients how to practice self-compassion, which could look like ignoring the harmful self-criticism that arises throughout their daily routines. By using Insight Oriented, Solution Focused and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques, clients learn how to ignore cognitive distortions and to better manage their feelings. La’Tish also helps couples grow their bonds with one another through facilitating vulnerable discussions about emotions, attachment styles, and needs.
La’Tish earned a Master’s degree from Hunter College Silberman School of Social Work. Her goal is to empower clients to put themselves first and to find balance between the many pressures that they face. She is an empathetic, compassionate therapist who leads by example by showing what living an authentic life looks like.
