Professional statement

Dr. Rachel Kleinman is an experienced clinical psychologist based out of New York City and Long Island. Dr. Kleinman works with adults of all ages, ranging from young adults to those struggling with the aging process. She supports clients who experience feelings of overwhelming sadness, anxiety and panic, disconnection to loved ones, and people who are going through major life transitions. Additionally, Dr. Kleinman helps those who have experienced traumatic events to process their feelings and move past their difficult memories.

In sessions with Dr. Kleinman, clients may talk about their upbringing and troubling experiences from their youth, as well as past and current relationships. Dr. Kleinman may use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients break out of unhealthy thought patterns and create new, healthy behaviors. She helps clients identify their mental health goals, and practice coping techniques in the face of change.

Dr. Kleinman is warm and engaging. She aims to bring evidence-based therapy techniques into session while also building trust with clients. Through this trust, she helps clients feel comfortable opening up and talking through their mental health to reach a comfortable, healthy place in life.

Message to clients

I care deeply about my patients. After each session I reflect upon the patient's needs, including but not limited to care coordination with other health care providers. Your mental health is a direct reflection of your physical health and should be treated with the same reverence. This is why I apply my understanding of the interdisciplinary health care system to ensure all aspects of the patient's health are treated appropriately.

I am empathetic and a good listener, while also practical and a problem solver. My support and availability extends beyond the allotted session, and I go above and beyond to be there for my patients.

Whatever it is that you’re struggling with, I would encourage you to reach out. We can all use extra support, especially today during these unpredictable times. I would be happy to hear from you and see how I can help.
