Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSWHe/Him/His
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSWRaymond Castilleja Jr. is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker – Supervisor with a private practice in Dallas, Texas, who specializes in helping Gay Men and Couples ignite change through individualized psychotherapy. Raymond helps clients through skill development address concerns related to anxiety, depression, relationship issues, substance abuse, and trauma. Many of his clients are struggling with their sexual orientation, living in or out of the closet, living with HIV, and navigating a relationship in Gay Culture. He supports Gay Men in discovering aspects of themselves that influence their behaviors, perspectives, and relationships to better understand how to cope with life struggles.
Raymond is not your traditional psychotherapist. In session, he uses humor, is kindly direct when appropriate, and guides his clients toward an awareness of oneself to evoke their inner power toward change. As a member of the LGBTQIA community, Raymond does not believe in a one size fits all model. He is trained in multiple therapeutic modalities which allow him to adjust his approach as clients change throughout treatment. Raymond interchanges the following therapeutic models: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy to create a foundation of mindfulness, normalizing feelings, challenging cognitive distortions, utilizing behavioral change, and processing trauma when needed.
Since 2013, Raymond has served the LGBTQIA community through individual therapy and couples counseling. He is committed to support Gay Men through life transitions, healing trauma, and living an authentic life. With a background in business and social work, he is uniquely positioned to help a variety of professionals and shared community members and welcomes new clients to his virtual practice.
