Professional statement

Dr. Scott Menasco is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who achieved his doctorate in Transformative Studies with a special emphasis on Buddhist philosophy and the concept of mental health. He specializes in working with adults experiencing difficulties with life transitions, depression, and low self-esteem. Early in his career, Dr. Scott intensively trained in a program dedicated to recovery from Toxic Shame, Codependency, and Inner Child work.

He takes pride in his ability to foster a genuine, warm connection with each of his clients. He does not subscribe to one-size-fits-all approach to therapy and uses both directive and non-directive approaches depending on the client and situation.

Additionally, Scott has training in a variety of therapy methods including depth hypnosis, guided meditation, ACT, treatment of addictions, 12-step, inner-child work, recovery from shame, and codependency. As the therapy progresses Scott talks with each individual client about which approach the client feels is most helpful. He understands psychology from a systems-perspective and generates interventions that are both practical and foster insight over time.

Message to clients

My number one goal as your therapist is to be on your team. Together, we will explore your feelings, thoughts, and conflicts in a safe, warm, and welcoming environment. We will discover your unique strengths and you will begin to see how these strengths can be great allies on your path of growth.

When clients come in to see me I try to give them three things: a sense of confidence in the therapeutic process or how therapy can help their situation, a sense of ease with myself as a therapist, and the landscape for what therapy with me will look like. Client's respond to different approaches in therapy, so I continually evaluate how therapy is going for each client both by monitoring their progress on their therapy and discussing their experience of the therapeutic process.

Through meeting with me regularly, I am very confident that you can develop a greater sense of ease in your life.

I would be glad to meet you and discuss how therapy can help your unique situation. Please reach out and we can set up a free phone consultation!
