Professional statement

Stephanie Day Morfitt is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker located in Los Angeles, CA. She welcomes adults who pay for therapy through insurance into her practice, as well as children, teenagers, and couples who pay privately for therapy. Many of her clients are highly anxious and have disruptive self-doubt. Often, they feel persistently sad, though they might not understand the source of their sadness. They seek therapy because they would like to find balance in their lives and learn how to break free of painful patterns.

When working with clients through insurance, Stephanie engages a therapy approach called TEAM-CBT, which stands for “Testing, Empathy, Agenda-Setting, and Methods Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.” This form of CBT provides a structure for the development of new patterns, especially thought patterns. For private pay clients, Stephanie’s approach to therapy expands to include mindfulness, self-compassion work, psychodynamic therapy, and the trauma resiliency model. Through these modalities, clients find that they feel lighter without negative emotions holding them down. They also feel more comfortable in their daily lives and their relationships, with improved communication skills.

Stephanie earned a Master’s degree from California State University Northridge. She believes that therapy is a powerful tool that can help clients find inner peace. She is a compassionate and kind therapist who wants the best for her clients and helps them achieve their mental health goals through the radical act of self-love.

Message to clients

I’m passionate about helping adults who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, self-doubt, or persistent sadness. You may be struggling to find balance, feel at peace with who you are, or express your needs in relationships. If you feel stuck in patterns of overthinking, people-pleasing, or avoiding difficult emotions, you’re not alone. I’m here to support you in finding relief from the emotional weight you’re carrying—and more importantly, to help you feel confident, capable, and secure in your relationships and daily life.

Together, we’ll work toward a deeper understanding of yourself, improve your communication skills, and cultivate self-compassion so you can experience greater ease and joy.

I specialize in treating anxiety and depression using an empathy-infused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach that is evidence-based and supported by neuroscience. This structured method typically leads to noticeable symptom improvement in about 12 weeks. Treatment includes client-driven goal setting, mood tracking, weekly sessions, and regular evaluations to ensure you feel supported and understood throughout the process.

You don’t have to go through this alone. Whether this is your first time in therapy or you’ve tried before without seeing the change you hoped for, I invite you to reach out. Therapy can be a powerful step toward feeling more connected, more in control, and more at peace with yourself. I’d be honored to be part of your journey.
