Professional statement

Vasti Cedeño is a neurodivergent Latina plus-size therapist and owner of LifeWork Counseling in NJ specializing in helping young adults and adults with issues surrounding trauma, shame and body positivity. Many of Vasti’s clients are struggling with self-love and have negative, harmful relationships with their bodies. Her goal is to help clients find their inner strength and develop the skills they need to resolve difficulties, accomplish goals and make positive changes.

In session with Vasti, clients learn more about their thoughts and behaviors as well as how their thoughts and behaviors play impact their emotions. Using integrated therapy approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), shame-resilience therapy, and art therapy, to teach clients about harmful thought patterns and how to build better coping and communication skills to avoid them. She is a strengths-based therapist, which means that she believes wholeheartedly that each client has everything they need within and around them to heal. Together, Vasti and her clients leverage these strengths to cope positively to the stressors life continues to challenge them with.

Vasti is committed to making her space a safe harbor for any who need it while they begin their journey of healing.

As an unconventional therapist who gives her clients ALL the time they need, sessions often run longer than usual, and start later than scheduled to meet YOUR presenting needs. You will be given the time you NEED. If you are unable to exercise such flexibility with time, this style may not work for you. Please schedule a phone consult to see if its the right fit!
