Alexander Beznes is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Greenwich Village, NYC who specializes in identity development, relationships, anxiety disorders, depression, and challenges surrounding masculinity. He particularly enjoys working with creative individuals, like musicians, writers, and actors, and has extensive experience working with men. Alexander also welcomes individuals across the lifespan to his practice.
Alexander’s treatment approach is grounded in relational therapy, but he utilizes other modalities whenever appropriate, like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or mindfulness practices. His sessions are client-led, and he lets them drive the conversation. Alexander enjoys helping his clients learn new habits surrounding time management, boundary setting, work-life balance, etc. He helps individuals get in touch with their own needs and better understand what they want out life. He also works with his clients to strengthen their mind-body connection and develop self-care routines that will ultimately improve their quality of life.
Alexander wants each of his clients to get in touch with their own voice and agency and feel more comfortable expressing themselves in all aspects of life, including with friends and family and in the workplace. He received his MSW from New York University’s Silver School of Social Work and completed his post-grad training in Relational Psychoanalytical Therapy. His office is conveniently located a short walk from NYU.
