Professional statement

Dr. Amee Dassani is a Clinical Psychologist who has over ten years of experience working with adults, adolescents, and children dealing with anxiety, depression, and trauma. Her expertise includes mindfulness, meditation, visual imagery, sensing to relieve stuck trauma, and energy healing techniques for sustained healing and growth. These types of therapies have worked also well with those coping with chronic pain and illness.

Dr. Dassani utilizes an integrative treatment approach that draws from Energy Psychology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Mindfulness, and Psychodynamic Therapy. During the first few sessions, she gathers information in regards to a client’s family relationships and background. What are the areas that they feel stuck in? In addition, she will examine some of their core beliefs and how these have impacted them. She also works with individuals to understand their life problems and what factors of their lives contribute to these issues, which seem ongoing. This information will guide the process of therapy, and she will offer strategies to give her clients some relief.

Dr. Dassani is very open and non-judgmental. She strives to make her clients as comfortable as possible during the therapeutic process. Her intention is for everyone who walks through her door to live to their highest potential. She looks forward to meeting you.

Message to clients

It takes a lot of courage to reach out for help and I am so happy that you have decided to seek support and guidance. Life can feel difficult if you are going through life challenges and finding it difficult to overcome the anxiety and stress related to these challenges. Most of my clients feel highly sensitive and often struggle with relationships, health, sleep issues, career related issues, and challenges of daily life. However, I believe that feeling this high sensitivity can actually be used as a strength and I enjoy partnering with my clients to help navigate them through life in a more mindful and positive way. I believe that no matter what our background or struggles have been, we all have the ability and right to live joyful, peaceful, and successful lives.

My practice is guided through my own profound healing and my spiritual journey. I believe that challenges and life traumas provide an opportunity for growth and that the mind, body and spirituality are all connected to our overall functioning. My goal for our work together is to help you live to your highest potential by providing you with the tools through an integration of theories and interventions specific for you. I am compassionate, authentic and passionate about this work! In some cases, therapy involves recommendations to other professionals such as physicians, psychiatrists, etc.. While these recommendations are not requirements, they may be necessary for you to fully recover and avoid serious difficulties.

It is always important to talk through difficult experiences, and I offer a compassionate and safe space for you to do this. Together, we can come up with solutions to every day issues and effective coping strategies.
