Bérnard is a psychotherapist in private practice with offices in Pasadena and Los Angeles (Beverly Hills adjacent) and has over thirty-five years of counseling experience working with individuals, and couples. Bérnard earned a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Spiritual & Depth Psychology with an additional specialization in Loss & Grief.
During the mid 1990’s Bérnard lived for a year in a closed monastic community in upstate New York after which he returned to New York City and served as Intake Coordinator and case manager for an Upper East Side serving dual and triple diagnosed homeless adults. In 1998 he moved to Northern California where he worked with Homeless Children & Families until late 2001 when he was recruited by Kaiser Permanente Hospice to become the Director of Bereavement & Director of Clinical Volunteers. In 2010 he moved to Los Angeles in Southern California to earn his Masters Degree and enter into private practice.
Bérnard is also a speaker, trainer and workshop presenter, and has received several awards and recognitions for his service.
