Professional statement

Hi, I'm Carmelle Ellison. I’m an East Coast native and a Licensed Psychotherapist who has embraced the San Francisco Bay Area as my home for the past nine years. I've lived in different parts of our country in between degrees, training, and life transitions. In traveling, I've been able to see a diversity of ways in which depression, anxiety, adjustment to life transitions, grief, and trauma present themselves. Especially, within the bodies of BIPOC.

As a Complex Trauma Expert, EMDR Certified Therapist, and Certified Enneagram Coach, I personally know the support it takes to get past stuck places like your well-being depends on it. I facilitate the use of effective tools geared towards helping clients heal from wounds of unresolved traumas, and often the byproducts of relational trauma, known as perfectionism, or impostor syndrome.

In my work with high-achieving clients, I support them in realizing what was possible all along - living in their truth and wholeness, while honoring their right to have authentic connections and onward growth. As a Black woman of Afro-Caribbean descent, social justice and equity are not just values that I hold - they're deeply personal. So, you can expect that intersections of identity that we navigate as humans are not ignored in my work with clients of diverse backgrounds. I honor their experiences of living in a world where power, privilege, and oppression affect us all.

When clients come to me they feel exhausted by their self-doubts and their anxieties about how to navigate the world. Yet, it’s regularly confirmed that where there’s cultivated space for safety and vulnerability, healing happens anywhere. I offer online therapy to CA residents and college students. I also provide integral coaching services to those in CA and beyond.

Message to clients

You’ve spent a lot of time being the version of yourself that you believe others have wanted, but it's exhausting. You’re tired of the overwhelm, anxiety, states of panic, feeling depressed, uninspired, or being unseen. You might also be trying to process big life questions that need honest reflections. After trying to manage it all on your own, it's heavier now than you thought. You're ready for professional support.

You want to wake up in the morning feeling excited again, balanced within, and showing up more confidently in your relationships. Life doesn’t have to be so hard, not when there’s support to help you address unresolved traumas, relationship challenges, career questions, perfectionism, or even impostor syndrome narratives that affect your confidence.

As your Therapist, you can expect me to be warmly engaging, attentive, and direct. Not only do I have years of clinical experience to assist you with stuck places, I know how to creatively get high-achievers out of their heads and more connected to the honest and wholesome lives that they deeply desire. I value your life and its potential, and would love to help you get started. Message me today to connect!
