Dr. Danielle Spearman-Camblard is a Clinical Psychologist providing teletherapy in the states of CT, FL, and VA. She provides a highly specialized private practice and is a subject matter expert in perinatal mental health, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and racial trauma. Dr. Danielle is one of few African American psychologists treating perinatal mood & anxiety disorders and race-based traumatic stress. As a media contributor, she is passionate about the impact of racial trauma and dismantling racial disparities in mental health as seen in her interviews with the popular press. She is an advocate for mothers, women's mental health, and Black Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC).
Dr. Danielle helps men and women suffering from anxiety, depression, and all types of trauma-related disorders. Many of her clients are new and veteran mothers who are experiencing postpartum depression, perinatal anxiety, miscarriage loss, anxiety with subsequent pregnancies following a loss, birth trauma, perinatal perfectionism, and compassion fatigue. She also treats new fathers who have anxiety about fatherhood. Clients also connect with Dr. Danielle to treat racial trauma related to racism and discrimination experienced at the workplace, college/university, etc. Dr. Danielle offers culturally informed services for any minoritized ethnic or racial group. Clinically validated measures are utilized for experiences of racial discrimination and assessments for race-based stress and anxiety-related symptoms to monitor progress during the treatment process.
Dr. Danielle helps clients reach their treatment goals by utilizing evidence-based treatment approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Client-Centered Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She is your empathic psychologist and committed to helping you transform your life!
Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)
Depression - Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life
Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) - Healing painful experiences and memories from the past
Postpartum depression - Coping with persistent feelings of sadness, exhaustion, and/or being overwhelmed after the birth of a child; developing strategies for more positive thought patterns and behaviors.
Pregnancy, perinatal, postpartum mental health - Addressing issues specific to women and families during the pregnancy and postpartum period, including postpartum depression and anxiety
Racism, oppression, and discrimination - Exploring how racism, oppression, and discrimination impacts one’s life, including relationships, work life, and self-esteem; growing self-care practices to combat the negative emotions that arise when faced with identity-based adverse experiences
