Professional statement

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I incorporate multiple client-centered approaches within the constructs of session. I pull from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Self-Compassion and Mindfulness, Trauma Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Therapy.

I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice at Sul Ross State University, a Master’s Degree in Social Work from University of Texas San Antonio, and I am a proud U.S. Air Force Veteran. My social work experience includes individual mental health counseling, group therapy, case management services, and utilization review.

My clinical work over the years is cultivated from my passion of working with multiple age groups, ethnicities, and socioeconomic class. I have extensive experience with clients who are enduring:

· -Childhood Trauma

· -Marital Relationship Issues, Family Conflict

· -Depression and Anxiety Disorders

· -Substance Abuse and/or Dependency

· -Body Dysmorphia

· -Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

· -Gender Identity Disorder

· -Adjustment Disorders

· -Personality Disorders

Psychotherapy is a process. For this process, to work in the client’s benefit the therapeutic relationship is a collaboration between the client and the clinician. I strongly hold a belief of being authentic, providing a space of respect and dignity for all my clients. In this world, every person is a unique blessing. and we all can learn something from each other.

Message to clients

I come to each session as an authentic person, who is willing to support, listen and provide a place of understanding and trust. I believe the therapeutic relationship, should be a place where someone has the outlet to feel unjudged, heard and their needs and wants validated. Each therapy session is an opportunity for clients to share at their own pace. I am here to actively listen, give compassion, explore options, and challenge clients to make changed in their own life’s directions. As a clinician, you as the client know yourself the best, I am just here to uplift you on this journey called life.
