Professional statement

Faith Carroll is a social worker and chemical dependency counselor residing in the state of Texas. She graduated from Our Lady of the Lake University with a Masters in Social Work with an emphasis on studies of Hispanic children and families. During her career she's volunteered at a Child Advocacy Center, worked in residential and outpatient substance use treatment as well as Psychiatric facilities. She has a passion for working with those battling mental illness and/or addiction as well as their families.

In her private practice, Faith treats children, adolescents, young adults, couples and families who are seeking a change in their lives. She has specialized training in addiction and trauma. The issues that she most commonly sees in her office are those as well as: depression, anxiety, grief, life transitions, spirituality and relationship issues. Faith creates a safe space for her clients by meeting them with unconditional positive regard, compassion and acceptance. She views therapy as a place where all thoughts, feelings and experiences are welcome. In her ability to go deep with her clients Faith helps them achieve their goals and maximize their potential.

With a background in yoga Faith utilizes mindfulness and present-time awareness to create a mind-body connection for clients to connect with themselves and feel safe in their own bodies. She also utilizes Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help people heal from traumatic life experiences. The goal of EMDR is to help the brain process through memories so that they are no longer triggering a threatening response from the body.

Message to clients

Hello there! I am so excited for you in taking this initial step by seeking therapy. Life can be tough. If you're struggling it may be time to lean into the support of a professional. Often when people come to therapy they are seeking a change in their life. As an experiential therapist, I believe change happens from changing one’s perspective. I want to support you in making this change and starting your healing journey of self-discovery.

What you can expect in our sessions is a comfortable space where you can share your intimate thoughts and feelings free of judgement.

Outside of work, I love to cook, watch true crime, read, play board games with family, go hiking with my dogs and go camping. I also love to challenge myself in the gym or practicing yoga.
