Gurudarshan Khalsa is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a private practice in North East Los Angeles, where she welcomes individuals and couples who are seeking change and transformation.
With an approach rooted in Attachment Theory, and having trained in PACT (psychobiological approach to couples therapy), Gurudarshan is uniquely skilled at working with couples and individuals who find themselves repeating self-destructive and painful relational patterns over and over. Many of her clients find themselves at an impasse, wherein the wounds of their early lives have come to influence them so greatly as adults that they find relationships, connection, or self-fulfillment to feel impossible or continually painful. This experience of emotional gridlock can often lead to or exacerbate already difficult symptoms of anxiety and depression.
Therapy sessions with Gurudarshan integrate both insight oriented interventions and experiential work through the use of meditation, somatic awareness and parts work, to aid in reclaiming a place and space for yourself in your life, and to no longer feel overwhelmed by anxious thoughts and hopelessness. For couples, Gurudarshan will take an active yet supportive role in challenging some of the long standing cycles of conflict, disengagement, betrayal, and disconnection. She is focused on assuring that the couples she works with are given a place and space to truly transform and unravel deep patterns of insecure functioning.
Gurudarshan is commited to honoring and welcoming the diverse identities, backgrounds and lifestyles of all of her clients, and holds a strong belief in the human capacity to not just survive, but thrive in a life created with agency, intention, and joy.
