Over the course of her 20 year career Heather has had the opportunity to work with teens and adults in a variety of settings. As a Social Worker her therapeutic skill is centered in strengths based, systems theory, and client centered practice. She draws from more traditional Solution Focused Therapy, CBT, & DBT as well as recent explorations into the benefits of self-compassion, values clarification, mindfulness, body and breath work, and polyvagal theory.
Heather welcomes the opportunity to work with anyone who is willing to partner with her in counseling. She has significant experience supporting anxiety, depression, trauma and neurodivergence in adolescents and adults. She also has a deep a clinical passion in supporting life transitions, folks with chronic illness or terminal illness, caregiver support, grief and loss and death and dying.
Practically speaking, if you enter into a counseling relationship with Heather you will find she connects with you wherever you are on you path. Her work is grounded in the belief that each person has a deep inner sense of knowing that will inform their healing. Her service is simply to create and hold a safe space for the transformation to occur.
