Professional statement

Jules Confino is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who specializes in stress management. He works with individuals, couples, and families who would like to decrease their stress levels and feel more relaxed and present in their daily lives. He often works with individuals whose careers and work lives cause burnout, which in turn can negatively impact their relationships and life satisfaction. He also has experience helping clients with anger management, men’s or women’s issues, addictions, parenting, and panic attacks. Sometimes, his clients’ high stress levels lead to the development of mental health conditions like depression or anxiety.

Jules’ approach to helping clients begins with mindfulness practices. He teaches clients how to increase their self-awareness, both of their physical sensations as well as their thoughts and feelings. Clients practice shifting their attention inwards and spending time with what’s happening internally. Jules might take them through breathwork, body scans, or visualizations that can be utilized as grounding techniques when they begin to feel upset. Jules also teaches clients effective coping skills, which can be used in the face of stress. He guides clients through several different ways of coping so they can find the one that works well for their specific personality, preferences, and situation. He provides clients with an open, compassionate space to talk about what’s stressing them out so they can derive insights about patterns or triggers.

Jules has over 35 years of experience as a mental health professional. He empowers clients to communicate effectively so that they can advocate for their needs, whether that’s at work or in relationships. His style is respectful, inclusive, and caring.
