Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, AMFT Associate Professional Clinical Counselor, APCCLisa Kirkland is a registered Associate Marriage Family Therapy located in Redlands, CA. Lisa works with clients across the age span, from childhood to adulthood, who would like to address the negative impacts of stress, loss, grief, or trauma. Lisa specializes in supporting mothers and birthing people and their families with perinatal and postpartum issues, including birth trauma. As a doula, she understands that becoming a parent and growing a family comes with many complex emotions and strives to give her clients a safe space to talk about what’s on their mind.
Lisa’s approach to therapy draws heavily from mindfulness based practices. Clients learn how to grow their self-awareness and focus their attention on thought patterns, feelings, and the motivations behind their behaviors. For clients who would like to process through painful memories of traumatic experiences, Lisa facilitates Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. She is a trauma-informed and strengths-based therapist who believes that a strong relationship between client and therapist is essential for the success of the client.
Lisa earned her Master’s degree from Pacifica Graduate Institute. She is a member of the EMDR International Association. She offers warm, collaborative therapy for clients as they process through their feelings and find a more comfortable balance in their lives.
