As trained child therapists and parent coaches, our clinicians have a unique perspective on the many causes of emotional and relational distress that the average adult seeking therapy is experiencing. We offer individual, family, and couples counseling in addition to play therapy for children.
Our clinicians:
Karen Wolfe, LMFT - the founder of SF Bay Play Therapy. Karen offers emotionally focused couples therapy, child-centered play therapy, and sexual polarity and embodiment work for couples, in addition to individual therapy for adults.
Nauser Wolfe, LMFT - Nauser offers parent coaching using Parenting by Connection (Hand in Hand Parenting), child-centered play therapy, and individual therapy to teens and adults combining mindfulness, psychoeducation, and relational modalities.
Suzy Young, LMFT - in addition to child therapy, Suzy works holistically with adults, paying attention to the link between physical and mental health. Her work incorporates mindfulness, parts work, guided imagery, somatic awareness, and self-compassion. She is also trained in brainspotting.
Katie Behm, AMFT - Katie offers play therapy for children as well as somatic therapy for adults.
Jen Cornell, AMFT - Jen offers play therapy for children. In her work with adults, she uses a client-centered, strengths-based, and solution-focused approach.
Lori Moreci, AMFT - Lori offers play therapy for children. Her work with adults is collaborative, client-centered, relational, strengths-based, and incorporates mindfulness, self-compassion, and parts work.
SF Bay Play Therapy is a full-service therapy group practice in the bay area. We offer child, adult, couples, and family therapy sessions in San Francisco, Oakland, and Orinda, and online for clients throughout California.
At SF Bay Play Therapy, we do not take insurance directly. However we have found that some PPO's with out of network benefits will reimburse fully or partially for services by some providers. Please inquire with your insurance directly. We can provide superbills when requested.
Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)
Child mental health - Specialized strategies for common childhood disorders including attention issues, attachment problems, behavioral disorders, learning disorders, autism spectrum diagnoses, and feeding or elimination issues.
Life transitions - Coping with difficult or impactful life changes, such as moving to a new area, relationship transitions, child rearing, or career changes; learning self-care to better manage resulting stress
Parenting - Helping parents develop and implement strategies to address challenges that arise throughout childrearing; managing stress and increasing support
Trauma - Coping and healing after threatening or scary events, such as witnessing accidents or experiencing sexual, verbal, emotional, or physical abuse
Mind-body connection - Practicing mindfulness to draw together how the body feels physically and how the mind feels mentally; healing both physically and mentally
