Professional statement

Angela Boring is a LCSW, residing in Texas, and practices across the state. She works with people who struggle with their nervous system typically seen as anxiety, a response to trauma or depression. Many of Angela’s clients reach out when high anxiety, chronic depression and relationship issues steal the joy out of their daily lives. She also has advanced training in the areas of addiction, anger resolution, attachment, developmental and complex trauma and somatic experiencing.

Angela is trained in several approaches; however, typically leans to cognitive behavioral and somatic experiencing under the lenses of attachment, trauma informed, and polyvagal theory. In session she focuses on developing a trusting relationship and working directly, with the nervous system, with pendulation and titration. This approach supports client’s ability to understand how their body acts and reacts, how to intervene, how to adjust when the body feels highly unpleasant when no immediate precipitating factors are presented. Angela’s style is unpretentious, neuro-relational, and includes adjuncts such as automated intelligence-AI. When the client is first seen the process of designing an individualized care plan begins. Over the next few sessions, with the client’s feedback, the plan is fully developed with measurable goals and objectives. Angela is dedicated to providing a relationship which is attuned, authentic and aligned with your values and intended goals.

Angela received her degrees at Southeastern Oklahoma State University-SOSU, Midwestern State University-MWSU and her MSW at Boston University-BU. She gained experience working for the top leading behavioral health organizations, which enables her to understand the complexities of behavioral health issues across the lifetime, chronic and acute, cultural, socioeconomical conditions and family dynamics. Outside of her private practice, she enjoys reading, studying high performing organizations throughout the US, and spending time with her family and rescue dogs.
