Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFT Master of Science, MSCynthia Longino is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist located in North Hollywood, CA. Cynthia specializes in helping individuals move past a sense of being “stuck” in their lives. This includes being stuck in unhealthy relationships and friendships, moving past creative blocks, and finding purpose and fulfillment in daily life. Unresolved trauma, frequent and ongoing anxiety and depression, blocked recovery and untreated addiction can also lead to a feeling of being "stuck", and resolving these can lead to a renewed sense of purpose and joy in life. Cynthia helps clients to make meaningful and lasting changes in their outlook, self-esteem, and self-care so that they can start living the life that they want.
Cynthia practices an evidence-based therapy modality called Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which helps place the painful memories often associated with trauma in the past in perspective, so clients can "move on" to lives free of unnecessary suffering and repetition. She also teaches clients grounding techniques and mindfulness exercises which can be used in moments of distress, as well as to increase feelings of safety, calm, and presence in one's life. She empowers clients to leave behind excessive worrying, harmful thoughts, and self-doubt.
Cynthia earned a Master’s degree from California State University, Los Angeles, and has post-graduate training in grounding and mindfulness practices, Motivational Interviewing, and EMDR. She creates a space where clients can transform through self-compassion, understanding, and an increased sense of connection in the world. She seeks to build close rapport and trust with each client as they journey along their path.
