Licensed Independent Marriage and Family Therapist, LIMFT PhDHe/Him/His
Licensed Independent Marriage and Family Therapist, LIMFT PhDJeff Kleinberg, Ph.D. is a licensed therapist in San Diego county. He works with adults (men and women) who are successful in their careers or other aspects of their lives yet feel disconnected from relationships, life meaning & purpose. They may experience "Imposter "Syndrome" despite success, e.g., "if people found out who I really am..." Some who found measures of success have painful experiences of the past that appear in the present. Perhaps you overworked to compensate for feeling inadequate, unworthy, to cover shame for not "being enough?" Has external success done its job for you?
Dr. Kleinberg also works with men and men's issues as they continue buying into unhealthy masculine norms like adhering to the "don't talk, don't share, don't express" rules that prohibits us men from richer and fuller life experiences.
Dr. Kleinberg integrates mindfulness, insight-oriented and skills-based approaches to help clients explore root causes of symptoms using awareness for how earlier relationships and experiences impact the present while also focusing on practical strategies such as mindful practices, meditation and problem solving. He brings an organizational, systems-oriented and coaching perspective into his practice. His Ph.D. dissertation was written on executive coaching.
In his approach, Dr. Kleinberg is interactive with honest conversation vs. head nodding "uh huh. I see... and how do you feel about that" response. He is authentic, genuine and open. He has (and continues to) work with US Veterans, executives, college students and business owners.
Dr. Kleinberg is dedicated to offering an inclusive, diverse, affirming and equitable practice, serving people of the global minority and those in our LGBTQIA community.
