Jenn Pontillo is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Massachusetts & Rhode Island as well as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in Vermont. Jenn works with a variety of adults and has a particular interest in supporting emerging adults and women. Jenn is also drawn to working with educators and healthcare professionals. She has worked in these fields and especially appreciates what you have been carrying since the start of the pandemic.
Many of her clients identify feelings of anxiety, depression, and uncertainty during life transitions. They are motivated, insightful, and seeking ways to regulate and process emotions so that they are empowered to live their lives in the fullest, most joyful, and authentic ways possible.
Jenn’s therapeutic approach is person-centered, strength-based, and holistic. She draws on a variety of modalities including cbt, mindfulness, trauma-informed, and post-traumatic growth. Jenn supports clients in learning lifelong skills that will ground them and build confidence to find their light and shine. Jenn brings to her practice compassion, empathy, humor, and care. She values creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space for clients to share their story. Jenn works from an antiracist and LGBTQIA+ affirming lens. She appreciates and values the vulnerability it takes to engage in therapy and is ready, and honored, to partner in this work with you.
Jenn has worked in the mental health field for over 20 years. She earned her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lesley University. Jenn has worked in a variety of settings including schools, community health organizations, private practice and hospitals.
Life transitions - Coping with difficult or impactful life changes, such as moving to a new area, relationship transitions, child rearing, or career changes; learning self-care to better manage resulting stress
Identity development - Understanding, accepting, and strengthening one’s sense of self through the exploration of family, work, and personal values; addressing issues such as, race, class, gender, and sexual orientation, in the context of self experience
College & graduate student mental health - Specialized strategies for common issues of young adulthood, including school and career stressors, support around healthy relationships, existential concerns, drug or alcohol issues, eating disorders, and anxiety and/or depression.
Medical professionals' mental health - Support navigating work-related expectations and stress; addressing issues of burnout, hierarchical pressures, and vicarious trauma
Women's issues - Therapy tailored to common concerns among women; providing a safe and understanding space to address life challenges, stressors, and questions around identity as a woman
Adolescent mental health - Working with adolescents, teenagers, and parents on social, academic, and/or emotional challenges throughout teenage years; addressing anxiety, family conflicts, peer relationships, school stress, transition to college, social media pressures, self-esteem, hopelessness about the future, emotional disregulation
