Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFTJessica Taylor Vara is an online Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist located working with clients in California and Florida. Jessica’s therapeutic specialties include helping those with anxiety, relationship conflicts, and trauma backgrounds. Many of Jessica’s clients feel overwhelmed by emotions, and find it difficult to manage their thoughts and feelings on a daily basis. This might be the result of a past toxic or abusive relationship, a difficult childhood, or a traumatic experience. They tend to feel codependent with their loved ones, and constantly worry about what other people think of them, which leaves them feeling hopeless and stuck.
Jessica is certified in providing an evidence-based therapy modality called Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). This therapy modality leverages the brain’s natural functioning to help establish a sense of safety, so clients can feel less overwhelmed by their emotional reactions. Jessica also helps clients develop their mindfulness practices, increasing self-awareness so they can identify their emotional states and avoid situations or people who lead to distress. Clients also learn more about who they are, as Jessica encourages them to reflect on their past experiences as well as their needs while providing a warm, empathetic perspective.
Jessica earned a Master’s degree in Psychology from Antioch University. She has over five years of experience working with clients as she believes that all individuals deserve to feel empowered in their wellbeing, and to experience self-confidence and genuine connection. She strives to support her clients as they explore their inner worlds and move past what’s holding them back to feeling more comfortable and engaged in their lives.
