Dr. Nate (previously known as Dr. Chantelle) Pseekos is a Licensed Psychologist in Rhode Island. Dr. Nate supports clients, who are living in Rhode Island, via a Secure HIPPA Compliant Video Counseling practice. As the Creator of Counseling in Seagulls' Cove, including PAVICTS: Telehealth Services for Individuals, Non-Profit Organizations, Higher Education Faculty & Staff, Businesses, Young Professionals, Graduate Students, & Recent College Graduates. As an openly LGBTQ+ community member & Counseling Psychologist, Dr. Nate supports Social Justice toward cultivating a Safe, Compassionate and Affirming counseling experience for all clients from a variety of racial, ethnic, sexual/gender identity-related, religious/spiritual backgrounds, and those who feel somewhat (or fully) otherized in parts of their environments (e.g., work, community, home/relationships).
Dr. Nate has previously served in six University/College Counseling Centers throughout the Northeast, Deep South, Southwest, and Midwest, providing individual, couples, and group counseling support across the country. Dr. Nate has previously published several articles and a book focused on consciousness-raising related to harmful stereotypes, promoting our understanding of the importance of person-environment fit on workplace satisfaction/fulfillment, working with client metaphors, and enhancing understanding of the impact of anger on wellness. Remaining a long-term member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and APA Divisions 17 & 44 reflects Dr. Nate's life-long commitment to Social Justice service in Counseling Psychology, welcoming Social Inclusion for All, & support for clients who express gender and/or sexual diversity, as members of the LGBTQ+ community.
Dr. Nate applies an integrative approach to client care. Long-term counseling is available, as well as Acceptance and Commitment Based Approaches, Narrative Therapy, Attachment/Relational Work, Interpersonal Processing, Multicultural/LGBTQ+ Affirming Therapy, Emotion Focused Support, Cognitive Strategies, Behavioral Work, Gottman Method Informed Couples Counseling, Motivational Interviewing, and other helpful counseling strategies/approaches to best support clients in a personalized way!
