Sherie Dechter is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Long Beach, California. Sherie has successfully worked with adults and couples to help them to recognize and navigate the many challenges that can impede happiness. There are many reasons why therapy is an important step in anyone’s life journey. Sherie is passionate about getting to the core of the issue to bring a better understanding of the problem and practice positive coping skills.
Sherie has been trained in tools for resolving trauma, and relationship issues, and creating a new and healthy perspective. She also has supported clients to overcome anxiety, depression, and grief. Sherie provides an open warm environment without judgment.
Sherie believes it is a collaborative effort to create a plan that fits the client. When you take the first step to start therapy it is important to understand past coping styles, and how they are not working. She can then examine ways to move toward a more workable solution. Sherie teaches you to notice feelings and emotions that are keeping you stuck. We work toward discovering the best way to create boundaries and increase self-esteem. Sherie is dedicated to providing a relationship that is accepting, and supportive.
Sherie earned her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California. She gained experience working with people throughout her 26-year career as a clinician. Sherie was a leader non-profits dedicated to foster care and adoption. She took that experience into private practice which allows her to examine the ecosystem of a person’s social environment and all its influences. Outside of private practice, Sherie enjoys time spent with her family.
