Professional statement

Dr. Simone Ravicz is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist working with adults and couples in private practice in Palm Springs and surrounding cities. She uses a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to best understand and work with her clients. When clients feel acknowledged and understood, they are more easily able to benefit from effective therapy. Her clients’ problems may stem from unmet needs (love, belonging, self-esteem), various issues (anxiety, addiction, depression, trauma, chronic pain) or not meeting personal or life goals.

Dr. Ravicz uses a neuroscience-based integrative approach. As detailed in her international bestselling book, “Brain Boosters: Seven Ways to Help Your Brain Help Yourself”, she teaches clients tools to change their brains’ structure and functioning to transform thoughts, feelings and behaviors leading to greater happiness, satisfaction and performance.

Dr. Ravicz’s therapy helps her clients develop insight into themselves and essential coping skills. She will teach clients specific mindfulness practices to enhance the ability to tolerate and manage stress and mental, emotional and physical distress. Mindfulness can also be very helpful to those dealing with addictions, trauma and chronic pain.

She uses evidence-based techniques and effective methods to best help her clients. Cognitive-behavioral therapy assists clients identify their patterns of negative thinking and resulting disturbing feelings and challenge and change them with the prefrontal cortex’s rational, more positive thinking.

Dr. Ravicz specializes in treating trauma and PTSD. She is trained and experienced in the use of two highly effective approaches: Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and Brainspotting. These allow the client to resolve trauma in a controlled, safe way so they can process the negative consequences and move forward without its painful, blocking presence.

Dr. Simone Ravicz maintains a diverse, inclusive practice offering both in-office and telehealth services so clients can pursue therapy in a way they feel most comfortable and safe.

Message to clients

My clients come to me when they're experiencing emotional and/or mental distress and just want the pain to stop...now. They often feel blocked and are sleep-deprived (or the opposite), stressed over college, depressed about work, angry or indifferent to partners and others, anxious, frustrated by everything! While change can feel difficult and scary, you can learn powerful, safe and effective ways through as you progress to becoming the person you truly want to be.

Who likes pain? It's understandable to try to prevent or stop pain as soon as possible, right? While this may help when it's physical, trying to prevent ourselves from feeling our emotional or mental pain generally backfires. Most of us try to deny, suppress or ignore negative thoughts and feelings. Unfortunately, when we do this they do not go away. I'd like to offer you a different way of becoming who and how you truly want to be in life. Ask yourself: "If not now, when?" If you're ready for a new way of being, feel free to contact me and let me know how I can be of help to you.
