Professional statement

For the past 17 years, I have been deeply committed to my own journey of personal growth and transformation. As a therapist, I believe my purpose is to support my clients with understanding their truth, increasing their own intuitive abilities to trust what is true and “right” for them, and help them reduce pain and suffering by cultivating more authentic connection with themselves. When we are connected with our truth and learn to love and nurture ourselves, our view of the world changes for the better!

My approach is holistic including somatic and transpersonal techniques to help my clients increase their self-awareness on all levels of their being – emotional, mental, physical and spiritual. To help answer questions, such as “What is my purpose in this life?” “How did I lose my sense of self?” “Why can’t I maintain positive relationships?” We explore tools that include mind, body, and spirit to help empower oneself to help manage life stressors that creates profound and lasting positive change in one’s life. As a certified Clarity Breathworker, I often introduce breath as a means to activate the subconscious mind and gain insights not easily accessed through traditional therapy.

I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist currently practicing in Pleasant Hill. I began seeing clients in 2012 at the John F. Kennedy Center for Holistic Counseling in Oakland and subsequently worked as a bilingual therapist at a domestic violence agency in Concord treating adults and children dealing with complex mental health issues related to anxiety and stress from traumatic experiences, substance use, economic hardships, parenting challenges, and a wide range of multi-cultural issues.

Message to clients

Thanks for taking the time to read about my work. "Shopping" for a therapist can be daunting yet it's so important to find a good fit. How do you know? Maybe it's the photo of the therapist, the feeling of ease you get when you talk in the initial consultation call, or both! It takes time to build trust and rapport with a stranger.

It’s important that my space feels safe, welcoming, calming, and comfortable whether we meet online or in-person. Clients often arrive somewhat hurried and stressed from the outside world, and quickly shift to a slower, relaxed pace conducive for healing. I encourage my clients of all ages to get comfortable however is helpful to them, whether seated on the couch, kicking off shoes to settle in and access what is needed this day. Sometimes what is needed is a simple grounding and centering exercise just to be able to connect with your truth and express it.

My hope is that we build a compassionate and safe space together to help facilitate the change you seek - perhaps it's healing past wounds, or transforming beliefs to have a more positive outlook of life, or to create a deeper connection with yourself and all your relationships. I enjoy holding a powerful space to release the old barriers so the new can enter. I am in deep gratitude for this work and look forward to connecting with you.
