Jessica "Chiara" Viscomi, LMFT is a licensed psychotherapist, psychology writer, and artist based in San Francisco, CA, working virtually throughout the state. She is passionate about working with people who are interested in a holistic approach to therapy that incorporates mind, body, and spirit. The main areas of focus for Chiara's therapeutic work are people who have a loved one with serious mental health issues and people who are recovering from narcissistic abuse and/or codependency. Further, Chiara also works with people looking to heal from childhood wounding and anxiety. She also loves working with the LGBTQQIA+ community and people navigating poly/CNM relationships.
Chiara's counseling style is warm and collaborative. She blends talk therapy, Somatic Experiencing, expressive arts, and mindfulness in a way that allows the spaciousness of creativity and exploration, as well as the concreteness of goal-setting and building your “toolbox” of skills you can use for the rest of your life. For those who are interested, she also weaves in sacred arts such as storytelling, creating altars and rituals, and more into her therapeutic work.
Chiara received her undergraduate degrees in psychology and drama from New York University and her master's in counseling from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology. She has worked in a private practice setting since 2012. Chiara has been training with Somatic Experiencing International and the C.G. Jung Center of San Francisco for the past few years, continuing to develop her work in integrating body- and depth-centered approaches.
As of now, Chiara's therapy practice is 100% virtual and open to adults who reside in California.
When not working with therapy clients, Chiara enjoys making music, drinking tea, and doing yoga.
