Professional statement

Amanda Wallingsford is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Transformation Coach located in Pflugerville, TX (just outside of Austin). Amanda is passionate about working with those who experience inner conflict between wanting more and better in life, yet not knowing how to get there. After building rapport and helping the client feel comfortable in the therapy setting, Amanda works with clients to build self-esteem and grow self-worth.

Amanda’s goal is to empower her clients to make healthy changes in their lives and prioritize their mental health. Using her twenty years of experience, she integrates different techniques to help clients achieve their goals. She often works with those who have negative thought patterns by using elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, a therapy style that emphasizes the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions. Amanda is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and uses this therapy with those who have experienced trauma and feel stuck in their coping due to negative self beliefs . Amanda integrates somatic (body) work in to sessions to help align the mind, body and soul when she notices that these are misaligned.

Amanda earned her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from San Diego State University. Her practice is based on the idea that loving yourself is key to living a life of fulfillment in all aspects of life - socially, professionally, and personally.
