Professional statement

Linda Lauretta is a licensed clinical social worker and mindfulness guide. Her work with clients focuses on helping individuals (18 and up) identify their needs, hopes and dreams and then set a clear course on how to realize their goals. Using the tools of self exploration through meditation, insight oriented counseling, body centered self awareness building and developmental psychology, Linda walks alongside her clients on their journey to understand their past and make new decisions for their future. Emphasis is placed on creating a safe, compassionate and nurturing space from which clients feel comfortable and inspired to grow and flourish.

Linda most often works with adults in their late 20's to 60's who are approaching life stage transitions such as relationship changes, career decisions, altered health or body image and relocation. As these and other changes increase stress, coping skills and anxiety management are an essential part of treatment. Many clients are attracted to the mindful and self awareness approach after their initial experiences with therapy.

Along with Linda's academic degrees, she has studied Ayurveda and Yoga philosophy in India and New York City and incorporates this holistic training with traditional psychotherapy for a well rounded approach. She has led meditation workshops, international peace dialogue groups and instructor development training. Having lived, studied and presented abroad, she brings cultural and spiritual sensitivity to her work.

Counseling is provided online via video and phone sessions through a secured platform to ensure the highest level of confidentiality. Office hours are Tuesday through Thursday for live sessions and messaging is available Monday through Friday.

Message to clients

Welcome and thank you for taking the time to read my introduction. I'm glad you're considering the decision to enter counseling and hope to help you feel informed and ready to start this journey. Whatever your reasons for seeking out some help in maneuvering your way through life, please know that it's your voice and your choices that guide my work with you. In professional terms, this is known as client-centered therapy meaning that what is important to you is what's important to me and our time together. You'll find our sessions to be interactive, always focused on what you're hoping to achieve with integrity and at times, dotted with some levity because laughter is a great healing release.

During our initial session lasting approximately one hour, we'll explore your reasons for coming to therapy, family constellation and developmental history, what changes you'd like to see happen and some thoughts on how we will work towards your goals. Follow up sessions will be 45-50 minutes in length and in general, we'll meet every week. As I have a secure messaging system within client portals, you will be able to write any thoughts or concerns in between sessions and receive a reply within 24 hours Monday through Friday. I invite you to explore my entire profile and look forward to hearing from you with any questions or concerns about beginning therapy.
