Dr. Cowins works with men, women, couples and adolescents in New York City providing primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Insight Oriented Psychotherapy.
Dr. Cowins works with all members of the community looking for a CBT therapist, however she has special interest and experience in working with people of color, Muslim populations, and people looking to process culture and intersectionality.
Dr. Cowins holds a Doctor of Psychology degree and has experience working with medical illness, the ways that psychology and physiology intersect to create and hold trauma in the body. Dr. Cowins is insightful, caring and helps her clients to create meaning and see significant improvements in their overall mood and functioning.
Dr. Cowins sees patients virtually via telehealth platforms for now for individual and couples therapy. She is out of network but can submit claims on behalf of her patients so they do not have to do deal with their insurance company.
