Licensed Master Social Worker, LMSW Practice: Corestory Psychology ServicesCatherine is a graduate of New York University’s Silver School of Social Work and has also completed the Psychoanalytic Association of New York’s Prelude to Training Program. Catherine has worked with adults, children, and families managing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, OCD, and trauma.
Prior to becoming a social worker, Catherine worked for 10 years in a range of settings, including the restaurant industry, international relations, and higher education.
Catherine tailors treatment to each individual client’s needs, drawing from a variety of therapeutic modalities and theories. She believes that therapy can be transformative, helping us to understand our stories, and even write new ones.
As a social worker, Catherine also places a great deal of importance on the socioeconomic factors that influence mental health. Our experience in the world is intimately tied to identity, class, and family systems—factors that are sometimes glossed over in mental health treatment.
