Professional statement

Kelly Mach is a board certified Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor. Kelly is passionate about helping women, whether that’s through life transitions like becoming a mother, beginning or ending a relationship, or getting through school to begin their careers. Kelly works with women who have experienced infertility or difficult pregnancies, as well as new mothers struggling to prioritize taking care of themselves. She also works with those whose work-life balance is lacking, which may be because of perfectionistic tendencies or people pleasing behaviors. She is a trauma-informed therapist who strives to provide clients with the compassion they need to move on from painful experiences and difficult memories.

Kelly’s therapy style is best suited for those who have busy lives. She empowers clients to take an hour each week to express their feelings and to talk about what’s on their minds, while also gaining helpful coping strategies that can help them feel more grounded throughout their week. Kelly teaches clients mindfulness practices that can fit into their lifestyles, including deep breathing or yoga. In addition, Kelly practices a therapy modality called Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is especially impactful for those whose trauma holds them back from feeling present, which often leads to relationship conflicts or emotional fatigue. She is an affirming therapist and encourages clients to love themselves no matter their shape, size, appearance, or situation.

Kelly earned a Master’s degree in Counseling from Manhattan College. She brings her personal experience as a mother and working professional into session to further empathize with her clients, injecting humor and kindness into each session.

Message to clients

I am passionate about supporting women in prioritizing their needs, uncovering trauma and associated narratives that are not helpful and showing up as the human you want to be - in your relationships, with your kids, at work/school and at home. I understand that this work looks different for everyone, and it's difficult to put a definite time frame on this process. I offer a solution-focused model that allows for flexibility in this process. I work with many busy folks (parents, professionals, students) and I find that offering solution-focused care can provide momentum when we are stuck. I am not the kind of therapist that will ruminate with you for years without any tangible feedback or structure. I know that if you are here, you are looking for immediate support and insight, and it is my goal to facilitate that to the best of my ability. I'm a busy working mom myself, so I get it! Your time is valuable, you are valuable and you deserve this support.
