Professional statement

Patty deeply values the therapeutic alliance formed during sessions and they strive to create a safe space free of judgement. For Patty, this means using an anti-oppression, fat liberation, HAES (Health at Every Size), anti-racist, and trauma-informed framework. Patty views the client as the expert in their own life, and their goal is to create a collaborative environment to identify what works best for each client.

Patty has experience working with individuals, couples, parents, and families. They have a holistic, person-centered, integrative approach utilizing ACT, CBT, DBT, and CPT, often in combination with Existential Therapy. Patty sees individuals, couples, and families for psychotherapy with a particular interest in working with LGBQ+ and TGNCNB clients (including folks on the aromantic and asexual spectrums), and people living with eating disorders/disordered eating.

Patty received their MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling where they interned for 2 semesters working at PFY, a nonprofit, providing free individual counseling and group programs to LGBTQIA+ populations, as well as a group for the parents of LGBTQIA+ individuals. While at PFY Patty learned letter writing for TGNCNB individuals to access gender affirming hormones and medical procedures. After graduating, Patty worked in eating disorder treatment at partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient levels of care where they worked with clients with multiple co-occurring mental health diagnoses.

Currently, Patty is seeing all of their clients virtually over video conferencing platforms.

I'm so happy you're here! While starting therapy can feel overwhelming, it's a great opportunity for personal growth and sifting through the parts of life that can feel heavy and sometimes impossible to navigate. There is so much possibility in what therapy can look like, and my goal is to collaborate with clients to find what works best for each individual. Please reach out to schedule a 15 minute phone consultation, free of charge, to see if we would be a good fit!
