Licensed Mental Health Counselor, LMHCHe/Him/His
Licensed Mental Health Counselor, LMHCAre you experiencing emotions that may feel overwhelming, foreign, or scary? Have you been having trouble making sense of and finding your place in the chaotic world that we live in? Have you been grieving the loss of something or someone important in your life? Have you been struggling with the use of an addictive substance and are looking to make a lifestyle change? Jeremy would love to share with you how his approach to psychotherapy can help you connect with your untapped internal resources and start building a more satisfying, stable, life.
The most important aspect of his work with clients is the therapeutic relationship. Jeremy believes strongly that the therapy room needs to feel safe, and that it acts as a microcosm of the outside world. He prioritizes trust, empathy, genuineness, and honest communication, and will often ask clients for feedback. Jeremy is happy to listen but is also an active therapist who wants his clients to feel as though he is on this journey with them. Jeremy is very integrative in his approach and will often combine aspects of talk therapy with practical tools and skills when appropriate. His work with each client is different and depends on each person's goals, needs, and expectations.
Many people struggling with addictions also have a great deal of unrecognized loss, whether that is the death of a loved one, job loss, or divorce. Jeremy is a Certified Grief Educator under David Kessler, and has specialized training in the Grief Recovery Method. Jeremy is also an advanced student in the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute. Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a specialized body-based treatment method, which emphasizes the importance of bodily and physiological experiences alongside talk therapy.
