Kristina Hamilton is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Long Beach, NY who specializes in trauma, anxiety, mindfulness, college and graduate student mental health, career counseling, and parenting. She also has extensive experience working with individuals who are navigating major transitions as well as professional firefighters and veterans and/or their spouses and older children. In addition to in-office sessions, Kristina also offers walk-and-talk sessions outdoors. Licensed in New York and FIorida, Kristina provides remote video sessions for busy professionals and parents.
Kristina is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). She is also trained in Prolonged Exposure Therapy. While these are more structured approaches, she tailors her treatment plan to each client by spending time learning about their background and goals. She also takes a holistic approach and frequently integrates mindfulness practices into sessions in addition to Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) skill-building activities.
Kristina supports her clients and helps them heal from the trauma they are experiencing. Her warmth and dedication are apparent the moment clients walk through her doors. Before going into private practice, she worked with The New York City Fire Department in varied clinical settings, as well as with United States active-duty service members and Marines, veterans and their families. Her office is located steps from the Long Beach station. She looks forward to meeting you.
