Professional statement

Marilyn Grande is a therapist in New York. She works with adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression and grief as well as significant life transitions which include loss, divorce, chronic illness or changes in patterns of life. Her practice works with adults virtually to provide clients with flexibility and confidentiality.

Marilyn’s treatment approach is client-centered and collaborative. She will help put clients at ease to uncover current patterns of thoughts, behaviors and emotions and to identify where shifts can happen to be more supportive of themselves and to experience emotional relief. She is trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and grief therapy.

Marilyn enjoys helping people gain greater clarity and insight into themselves, so they can make the necessary changes to feel more at ease with their emotions and interactions with the world. Her hope for her clients is to learn and experience more joy in their lives.

Marilyn received her BA from the University of Notre Dame and her master’s degree from Columbia University School of Social Work. Marilyn enjoys spending time outdoors on trails and near water especially with family and friends.

Marilyn is available for sessions weekdays, evenings, and weekends.

Message to clients

Therapy is putting aside precious time in your schedule for yourself. It provides the space and support you may need to explore your feelings and experiences and learn ways to feel better. Everyone can benefit from time in therapy. It requires putting aside some time, consistency in showing up and most importantly honesty. It is a powerful experience to be seen and supported through a non-judgmental therapeutic relationship. My goal is for my clients to gain greater insight and compassion for themselves, so they experience life with greater alignment and authenticity.
