She has extensive expertise in the evidence-based treatment of obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), including the purely obsessional type (pure-O), anxiety disorders (including generalized anxiety, social anxiety, phobias and panic), depressive disorders, as well as perfectionism and body image concerns. She also works with people navigating challenges related to relationships, career/school, the postpartum period and other life transitions.
Dr. Mestechkina is a cognitive behavioral therapist. She was trained by an internationally-recognized expert in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard of OCD treatment and related conditions. She also integrates approaches from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and skills from Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
