Professional statement

Deanna Baker is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York City who works with clients for life transitions, anxiety, self-esteem, LGBTQIA+ issues, and spirituality concerns and curiosity.

When clients visit Deanna, they are often facing the aftermath of a significant transition – such as ending a relationship or shifting gears in their professional life. They may find the stress or anxiety that accompanies the change is more significant than they’d anticipated. Other clients are looking to push back against recurring patterns or self-limiting beliefs they have absorbed from previous experiences and relationships, in order to effect more positive change in their own lives.

Deanna uses a blend of treatment approaches, including positive psychology and strengths-based therapy, to help her clients prioritize self-care in their everyday lives. She understands that therapy is fundamentally a highly individualized process, and she looks forward to working with you on your journey.
