Professional statement

Gaël has over 11 years of clinical experience working with people across the lifespan with current and past experiences of sexual/physical violence, torture, living in supportive housing, hoarding issues, substance use/abuse, grief, and trauma. Gaël is trained to provide EMDR, one of the top nationally-recognized modalities to address trauma and other distressing life experiences. Gaël has extensive experience working with those whose sexuality, gender expression, and relationship styles are considered non-traditional. They are a native French speaker.

Gaël believes that vulnerability is the driving force that connects us to one another and to our own selves; it is often daunting to share our suffering while remaining present and connected. Whether you're seeking relief from personal pain, collective suffering and institutional oppression, rediscovering inner strengths, or finding a deeper connection to yourself and others, Gaël is here to provide an affirming and nonjudgmental space for exploration of your individual subjective experience.

Message to clients

Hi, I’m Gaël. In my approach, I view a positive therapeutic relationship as the foundation to all growth and change. I am an insight-oriented trauma-informed therapist. When working together you can expect to be met with compassion, warmth, authenticity, curiosity, creativity, and humor. I invite all parts of you to enter the room.

Life can be hard, yet I believe we have an inherent and adaptive resiliency. I don’t pretend to know the answers, but together I hope to create a space of curiosity into your life experiences, your patterns, and your goals so that you can imagine a different future. After we’ve developed trust and a solid foundation to work from, together we can look at the areas that require growth and change, as well as help you to find meaning into your experiences. I believe in including your internal somatic experience as part of our work together and will regularly invite your body into the space.

I practice from an anti-racist, intersectional, and social justice lens and approach. I have experience working with people of different racial and ethnic identities, sexuality and gender expressions and identities, physical and intellectual abilities, and class backgrounds. I work in solidarity with sex workers.
